Wow, 20k! I just wanted to say thank you because even if numbers don’t really matter, Instagram is above all for me a lot of meeting and connecting with incredible people who inspire me every day. I’ve met people on the other side of the world that I plan to visit someday, I’ve met people who have now become my friends in real life, I’ve met teachers who have accompanied me on my journey, I talk to incredible people every day who give me advice and motivation. For me, instagram is all about connections – connections that are caring and enriching.
I hope I can show you the reality of my practice behind the pretty pictures, showing you the work, the hours of practice behind the pretty poses, the falls too.
I would also like to add that I hope I don’t make you feel negative feelings about yourself. Because I know that I practice a lot – not necessarily more in these times of confinement because I have always practiced every day – however my will is not to show you how much I practice, but to show you that all these poses do not come out of nowhere and are the reflection of a lot of practice, dedication, commitment and patience – and also to offer you a motivating and inspiring content.
But it is not unproductive to practice less or less often – yoga is above all about listening and accepting yourself, long before asanas. And practicing for 2 hours, holding a handstand for a minute or doing middle splits will not determine the worth of your practice, nor your self-worth. As my beautiful friend @carolynanahata reminded us yesterday, yoga is above all a spiritual practice that allows you to reconnect to the present moment, to yourself, to the universe, and asanas are one of the means to access the inside.
