I don’t know about you, but there is SO much I don’t resonate with anymore from my past. I made a laundry list of bad impulsive decisions, I used negative coping strategies (lots of alcohol to try and combat anxiety), etc…. But I can close my eyes now and look back at the girl I used to be, the girl that was trying her hardest to fight her demons with what little self awareness she had. I love her, and I thank her. She was doing the best she could at the time, and she somehow got me here. A place of better understanding, growth, and acceptance. It’s a never ending journey – especially in dealing with a fucked up healthcare system which doesn’t take mental health seriously- but I feel like I’m finally on the right path.⠀

Why am I sharing this you ask? Remember- YOU ARE YOUR OWN ADVOCATE. Don’t slip through our broken health care systems cracks and give up. I want you to know that if you’re struggling you’re not alone, and I believe in you.. Don’t give up on yourself- I promise you’ll thank yourself in the future.⠀
