Your amount of backbend ( #spinalextension ) is related to the tension you have in the #frontbody and the unique shape of your spine (specifically the height of the vertebra bodies, the height of the intervertebral disks and the orientation and shape of the spinous processes). Most of the backbend comes from the lower back ( #lumbarspine ), the least from the upper back ( #thoracicspine ). You can’t decide to spread the backbend EVENLY along the spine. You are determined to bend back in a way your spine is able to. Some people are #backbending higher up in the lumbar spine and others lower down in the lumbar spine.
